TORNADO WARNING!!
A statement like that does get the attention of almost everyone!
Your group will get the chance to meet a real life Professional Storm Chaser--Dean Cosgrove--Me. I have taken my life-long passion for severe weather and turned it into a full time business. I am one of very few full time Storm Chasers. I have captured many unique and impressive severe storms including some that are arguably the most impressive ever caught on video. Your group will see a very close cloud to ground lightning bolt that struck about 100 feet from my vehicle. That shot is being called by lightning experts one of the best ever shot on video. Also featured is a "Gustnado" type tornado that passed within about 50 feet of the camera! Several tornadoes will be featured in this presentation. Your group will see a tornado as it forms and grows to over one mile wide! Imagine the level of excitement that you will hear as I report a vehicle actually driving through a tornado! Weather effects us all. This presentation captures the attention of groups and they will also learn from the safety tips to help them avoid a tragedy by being aware of what to do and when to do it. As a special bonus, I will also provide a display clearly demonstrating the power of severe weather. Memoribilia of some of my chases, the first display features lightning safety. Your group will have the chance to see pieces of a tree struck by lightning. One piece was found blown 35 feet from the tree and imbedded 4" in the ground. Other pieces show the heat involved--as much as 55,000 degrees Fahrenheit--by the scorching and bending of the pieces on display. This display will leave a lasting impression of why to NOT take cover under a tree. Another display shows the power that a violent tornado has, showing pieces of a vehicle torn to bits by a tornado.
The speakers fee is negotiable for non-profit organizations or for groups with limited resources. It is my personal desire to spread this valuable, potentially life saving information to as many people as possible. Questions will be welcome from your group.
